Most providers will not tell you a price

Of the 100 Australian pet cremation providers we surveyed, only 36 publish what the cremation costs. The other 64 ask you to ring and explain what has happened before they will say.

9 of them will sell you an urn online, with the price on the product page, while still making you call to learn the price of the thing you came for. That is the part of this industry we think is worth changing, and it is why the numbers above are on this page at all.

In QLD, 14 providers publish prices between $165 and $3,670. That spread is not a quality signal. It is mostly weight bands and what each quote includes, which is why the question below matters more than the headline number.

What we charge in Gold Coast

Communal cremation
from $280
✓ Collection from home or vet in Gold Coast ✓ Several pets cremated together ✓ Ashes respectfully scattered, not returned ✓ Memorial certificate
Individual cremation
from $480
✓ Everything in communal, plus: ✓ One pet, one chamber, tag-verified ✓ Ashes home in a timber urn or scatter tube ✓ Certificate with tag number, collar returned ✓ Hand delivery to your door or clinic

Weight moves the price: cats and small dogs sit at the from-price, an 80kg dog sits at the top of the range. Our $480 starts above the national median of $432, and the difference is what sits inside it, because collection, the urn, the paw print and hand delivery are all included rather than added at checkout. Call with species and rough weight for the exact Gold Coast figure in one minute. Optional keepsakes are listed with real prices at what's included.

How to compare Gold Coast quotes fairly

Three questions expose the difference between quotes faster than any price list: Is collection included? Is the urn included? And is your pet alone in the chamber, with something physical that proves it? A quote can be $100 cheaper and answer no to all three.

Our answers are documented, not asserted: the full tracking process is at how ashes are tracked and returned, and the honest trade-offs between the two services are at private vs communal.

Counts come from the text of recent public Google reviews (sampled newest-first, refreshed periodically); a provider not mentioned on a factor simply was not discussed, which is not a criticism. Competitors are ordered by Google rating, ties by review count. Pet Farewell is our own service and is not rated against them; its cells state our written commitments, and we invite you to hold us to every one of them.

Pricing in Gold Coast, answered.

What does pet cremation cost in Gold Coast?

Across 206 prices advertised by Australian providers, the median for individual cremation is $432 and the range runs $150 to $3,670. Weight is what moves it. Ours in Gold Coast are $280 communal and $480 individual, and collection, the urn or scatter tube, the certificate and hand delivery are all inside those numbers.

How many providers are there near Gold Coast?

We counted 13 pet cremation facilities within 100km of Gold Coast, 4 of them within 25km, and the closest is 6.2km from the city centre. 4 of them advertise after-hours collection, which is the number that matters if your pet dies overnight.

Why do quotes vary so much between providers?

Inclusions. Some quotes exclude collection, the urn or the return delivery and add them later. Compare the all-in figure and ask what identifies your pet through the process; a low headline price with a shared chamber is not the same service.

Do you charge more for after-hours collection?

Sometimes, depending on the hour and suburb. Whatever it is, we quote it on the phone before anything is booked, so the invoice never surprises you.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, ask when you call. No credit check and no interest; cost should not add stress to an already hard week.

Does pet insurance help with any of this?

Usually not the cremation itself, though some policies contribute to euthanasia costs and a few pay a small aftercare benefit. Our insurance guide covers what to look for in your PDS, and our invoice itemises everything for claims.
